Date Saved:
1955. My sister raised me until I was eight years old when she married and left our house. One day when I was very little, she just picked me up and ran outside with me. She sat me down in the cool grass and told me about Jesus. She then taught me to sing the song “Jesus Loves Me.” I believe that I was saved that day, though I wasn’t even in school yet. I not only believed but knew that Jesus was with me all the time. I truly loved Him and made sure I told Him every night.

When I was in fifth grade (1955), I heard kids talking about Sunday school. I didn’t know what it was (can you believe that?), but when I found out that it was a place where you learned about Jesus, I was right there the following Sunday. I got up every Sunday and went to that Baptist church all by myself until I moved from Pennsylvania in 1963. Pastor Trieber reminds me of the preacher at that church, who didn’t mince words or “sugar coat” anything when he preached!

Date Baptized:
June 21, 2009

Who invited you to attend NVBC:
I received a postcard on my doorstep three days before my sister and brother-in-law flew into San Jose Airport from Ohio, on April 25, 2009. When my brother-in-law walked into my house at about 11:30 that night, he pulled out a little card and asked me if I knew where this church was. He had been sitting beside Tim Treiber on the plane, and Bro. Tim gave him an invitation to come visit NVBC while he was in town. The first day I picked up that card from under my doormat, I knew that I was going to visit North Valley—so you can only imagine how I felt when my brother-in-law walked in with the very same card! I had been looking for a churchhome for so long. We visited NVBC on May 3, 2009, and I have been attending ever since.

What does our church mean to you?
It’s been so long since I’ve had a real church home that I just can’t seem to get enough. I’m so hungry for knowledge of God’s word, and I do receive it here. I love being with Christian people, feeling love, learning truthfrom God’s Word, and feeling the peace of God.

Sunday School Class:
I attend the Lifeline Bible Class where Bro. Alvin
Martinez is the teacher.

Favorite Bible Verse:
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” That was the first Bible verse I had to memorize in Sunday school. I never forgot it, and neither should anyone else.

Moon Township, Pennsylvania

Favorite Church Song:
Holy, Holy, Holy

I just wanted to say how happy I am to be a member of this church. I have visited many churches over the years and have never experienced anything like NVBC. I can just feel God’s presence there. We are very blessed to have a preacher through whom God speaks. Also, we must thank God for Mrs. Trieber’s support for the pastor and the church.
