Shane & Sarah McCuin Family
When were you saved and baptized?
Shane: When we lived in Redwood City, my Grandma McCuin gave Pastor Azzarello my address and we got a Gospel tract on the door and a phone call. As a result, I decided to take my family to church. After a few visits, we came again. On the morning of March 16, 2003, during the invitation, the Holy Spirit tugged at my heart and I went forward. Bro. Jason Azzarello led me to the Lord, and I was saved. What a day! I walked in the doors a lost sinner on my way to Hell and left a sinner saved by grace on my way to Heaven. I followed the Lord in believer’s baptism that night.
Sarah: In December of 1999, God led me to Grandma McCuin’s house on a Sunday, and I asked if I could go to church with her that evening. I had not planned on going to church, but God was drawing me to Him. At that evening service, Pastor Trieber was describing the reality of Hell, and I was fearful that it might be a real place that I might go to. During the invitation, he asked anyone who was not 100% sure of Heaven to raise his hand. I felt compelled to raise my hand and go forward to find out what these people knew that could make me 100% sure. I knew that there was something different about the Christians in this church. My previous testimony of salvation was shaky, and the Holy Spirit was convicting me that I was not saved. Brenda Evans took me to the front and led me to Christ. That night, I received hope, freedom, and Jesus Christ as my Savior! I was baptized that same night.
Who invited you to attend NVBC? Grandma McCuin
What does our church mean to you?
Shane: I grew up in the area and always knew about the church. I had also been a visitor a few times over the years. But now that God has opened the doors for my family to join the church, I have come to realize the impact that NVBC has on the world through its different ministries. It means so much to me to see God at work in every service. To be a part of the NVBC ministries and family is truly a wonderful time in our lives.
Sarah: I visited North Valley Baptist Church as a young teenager and as a young adult, and I received Christ here as well. We became members exactly 10 years from when I was saved here, during the very same week of December. The church staff and members have been friendly and welcoming to our family. They have shown true Christian love in helping us settle into our home and church.
