John and Jo Mai Javier – New Members
John Paul: Looking back on my life when I did not know Christ, I did things that I should have never done. I was searching for forgiveness and for something that I couldn’t describe but it never came. When my wife came to the United States to reunite with me, she was looking for a church. Through my parents who invited us, we are now blessed to be here at North Valley Baptist Church. It was June 2010, when I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and personal Savior; and through Him that I found forgiveness for my sins. I am so glad that my wife and my daughter pushed me to Christ. True peace only comes from Him.
Jo Mai: Growing up with a military father was difficult because I didn’t get to spend much time with him. There was a lot of anger and hatred in my heart. As I looked further into my heart, I knew there was something missing. It was in the summer of 1996 that the emptiness was filled—when I accepted Jesus as my personal Lord and Savior. Ever since then, my life has been filled with so much love and the Lord has showered me with bountiful blessings. Jesus made my life complete!
- Date baptized: We were both baptized on August 8, 2010.
- Who invited you to attend NVBC?
My husband and I were in search of a church, and the Lord led us here through my in-laws (Sal and Sol Javier).
- What does our church mean to you?
North Valley Baptist Church is our home. As new and growing Christians, our church has helped us as individuals and as a family. The church is our family and stronghold where we worship and serve the Lord. It is a place where we encourage each other to grow in our love for the Lord. Our Pastor, our Sunday school class, the morning service—is so incredible. Attending every Sunday sets the week right. We love coming to church. The Lord is so good and gracious to give us North Valley Baptist Church.
